This shoot was while on a trip back in Dubai, Heat Cafe – stands for Healthy Eats and Treats, all about good food and limited calories and carbs. The place is always packed with people after their gym workout for protein-rich breakfasts that are simple but packed with everything the body needs.
The brief was very simple, show off the ingredients without propping and let the quality of the food shine though…….From January Ill be based in the UK mostly as a food photographer and videographer so if you need some shots like these or with extra styling to drop me an email louise@redtailmedia.co.uk

Food photographer Hertfordshire UK, Food videographer Hertfordshire UK, South East photographer, drink photography, pub food photography, stop motion
Its always a challenge when clients ask for something different, Yugen wanted a dark atmosphere to their images to showcase their food. We used a steel worktop and lots of black cards to create a moody image to highlight the food.

Al Rawabi social media photography and videography
Al Rawabi Social Media Photography and Videography
A while ago I was approached by a company representing Al Rawabi Dairy here in Dubai. They wanted me to be involved in their social media posts – photography and Videography.
You will see my work featured on Facebook and Instagram
The posts will mostly have a message regarding their products hence the product is heavily featured, I have tried to twist it up a little with a slightly blurred product in the background but it wasn’t to their satisfaction. Im always looking for ideas for their posts, its not easy trying to make all posts different! 🙂
Here are some of my images from the last months Campaign – All about Vitamin D milk….

Couqley Restaurant shoot Dubai
Couqley Restaurant shoot Dubai
Recently I had the pleasure to photograph one of Dubai’s little treasures – Couqley in JLT. If your a fan of French food then this is a must to try! The french onion soup was to die for – sorry yes I did eat the food – it was divine! They re pretty new in Dubai – Couqley is a French bistro with two branches, one located in ‘The Alleyway’ in Beirut’s trendy Gemmayze district and the second branch is in Blueberry Square in Dbayeh, just off the main highway. Now one in JLT Dubai.
Couqley offers traditional bistro meals by Partner & Corporate Chef Alexis Couquelet.
The brief was to have an inviting atmosphere and show part of their look – the red and green check napkins. The feel was to photograph the shots as if people were just about to sit and eat the meal, very relaxed but focused on the beauty of the food.

Stop motion Animation video’s for Caffe Nero
Stop motion Animation video’s for Caffe Nero
Last month we shot for Al Tayer producing a set of 3 stop motion animations for Caffe Nero UAE.
Working with the amazing Stephanie the stylist again and awesome art director from Al Tayer we shot from 6.30am until 11pm to produce 3 short 15 second videos of the key ingredients for the new Milano range. Stop motion can be quick and easy or long and detailed depending on the brief, this project falls into the later.
A long shoot however a lot learned and lots of fun in the meantime!
See what you think…

Stop motion video for Magnolia Bakery
So this Summer is all about Stop motion videos!
Stop-motion animation is one of the simplest, most fun animation techniques.
All you need is your camera, imagination and a computer!
Although the flashier computer-generated animation is in vogue, stop-motion has a rich heritage of its own. After all, who doesn’t love the Gumby shorts of the 50s and 60s, Gumby’s comeback in the mid-90s (you know you’ve arrived when you’re a spokescharacter for the Library of Congress!), and the ever-popular Wallace and Gromit?
This year stop motion animations have made a storm and they are not about to stop any time soon!
You can use just about anything in your stop-motion animation, and thanks to digital cameras and computers, creating one is now super easy.
As a food photographer in Dubai and UK I have been dying to do one and then came along about 10!
Here is one of many I have shot and edited for Magnolia Bakery last month, using the cupcake of the month and raw ingredients …

Live loud Girl – Linda Dekkers
Live loud Girl – Linda Dekkers
Mamas, if interiors are your thing then Linda Dekkers will need no introduction. The awesome mama behind the Live Loud Girl Blog and interior styling service is a regular source of inspo for the Sassy Mama team – we spend hours trawling her instagram feed for gorgeous pics of her latest projects and beautiful ideas. We got an exclusive peek into Linda’s gorgeous new Jumeirah villa (which made us instantly want to go home and declutter!) and spent a few wonderful moments getting to know her adorable boys Jack (aged 5) and Sam (aged 4). Here’s how she does it all, mamas!

Freshup juice shoot in Qatar
Freshup juice shoot in Qatar
Last week I was invited to Qatar with a lovely food stylist I know Aliaa Al Sawy, we were to work on a new concept that is shortly opening there Called Freshup. The small cafe mixes up fresh juices, smoothies and other drinks that are very healthy and have fresh ingredients, some even have protein powder for those who wish to get their intake after the gym etc. I was very surprised with the product, I didnt expect it to look as good as it did and with a mix of natural light and studio lights we managed to get a feel in the photography to represent the product.
We were pleased with the end results even though we had to shoot more than we normally would in 2 days. It was a great learning experience trying to get all my camera equipment and lighting on my flight, but it all worked out well and only one small reflector was broken.
I love being a food photographer here in Dubai but to be able to travel and shoot the things I love in other countries makes me even happier and more fulfilled.
